BDA 309 was the first master classroom established before 2000 in the Boutwell Dramatic Arts building. Even though the room has had one cosmetic remodeling since, and some equipment has been replaced via repairs, the entire master classroom system fails more frequently than other relatively newer master classrooms in BDA. Such frequent failure has seriously affected the daily classroom instruction of our faculty who often use video streaming and other multimedia in their teaching. We are requesting funding to 1. upgrade the room to a new master classroom design for optimal foreign language instruction; 2.have a thorough equipment upgrade, as well as new modular classroom furniture conducive to a collaborative learning environment; and 3. upgrade the aesthetics of the room.
