BAS S328 is a 100-seat classroom with the same basic technology that was originally placed in the building in 1997. There have been no major renovations/upgrades to this room. It is one of the largest rooms in the department and will be very important to have updated if we return to a more traditional schedule in fall 2021, especially if we are still under social distancing guidelines. The requested upgrade will allow faculty better and more reliable access to technology for both faculty and students. Due to its size, this classroom is popular and could potentially serve 1,900 students per semester. With budget constraints looming regarding the hiring of faculty, class sizes will need to increase in order to maintain student credit hours and meet the needs of our students. Other departments on campus use this classroom when not in use by departments within the college. The room simply needs a total upgrade in both technology (poor quality projector, teacher workstation, etc.) and facilities (flooring, shades, zone lighting, desks, door swipe, etc.) to be at the standard expected by our students and to remain a modern facility.
