The James E. Walker Library at MTSU is the intellectual center for MTSU students and reflects the University's commitment to education and research. Walker Library is the largest open computer lab on campus. We have over 400 computers available for student use (mostly purchased by TAF) as well as laptops and other technology related items we check out to students. We are in the process of increasing checkout times for most of our technology items, including laptops, to better serve our student patrons. We would like to replace some of the laptops that are old and out of warranty. We would like to purchase two high end computers to replace outdated machines in our presentation / practice rooms plus video capture cards for these rooms. We are requesting one other PC to add to our Makerspace area to give students more access to software and hardware in that area. We are also requesting a Wacom monitor with stylus for use with design and drawing apps, a motion capture system to use in our green screen room, and other items for student checkout including camcorders, drawing tablets, portable projectors, graphing calculators, and digital voice recorders.
