BAS S328 is a 100-seat classroom with the same basic technology that was originally placed in the building in 1997. There have been no major renovations/upgrades to this room. It is one of the largest rooms in the department (potentially serving 1,900 students per semester) and used by other departments as well based on availability. The requested upgrade will allow faculty and students access to more reliable, up-to-date technology. Class sizes have already begun to increase due to budgetary constraints on hiring new faculty. This room is long overdue for a total upgrade to help us remain competitive in attracting students from a shrinking pool of college-aged students. The technology (poor quality projector, teacher workstation, etc.) and facilities (flooring, shades, zone lighting, desks, door swipe, etc.) need to be raised to the standard expected by or students in order to remain a modern facility.
