The MTSU Child Development Center offers a practicum experience for students enrolled in the College of Education working in the toddler and preschool classrooms for ECE 4300 and 4800. The center averages over 60 students a year using the center for their practicum experience. Students rely on videos of their interactions with the children to build their knowledge on working with children 1-5 years of age. Our "Big Room" (large conference room) and the playground are extensions of our classrooms and cameras in these areas will allow the students and professors to view their interactions outside of the classroom setting with the children. The cameras will also add extra security for the staff, children and center as a whole. We are requesting two cameras be installed in the "Big Room" and two cameras on the playground that will be added to our current closed circuit video camera system with microphones already installed in our classrooms.
