LRC 101 was designed to enable delivery of instruction using two projector screens and six small group work screens placed around the large room (capacity 150) supported by one master instructor station, installed in the 2012-14 LRC renovation. This proposal requests funds to replace Master Classroom technology for the Instructor's Station in LRC 101 due to equipment failure. On numerous occasions, the current technology failed, with ITD repairing or replacing equipment, some of which also eventually failed. We worked with ITD to seek solutions, but they finally confirmed that the equipment failure was irreversible, deployed temporary equipment on an emergency basis so instruction could continue and recommended we submit a TAF proposal for a permanent solution. During AY 2020-21, 415 students met in LRC 101 for undergraduate courses (6), student seminars(4) and assessment sessions(1) representing programs from Educational Leadership, Elementary and Special Education, MTeach and the Student Teaching Residency 1&2 programs. Additionally, an unspecified number of current students participated in onsite professional development for K-12 teachers that were held in this room. These onsite conferences will resume in the summer of 2022, with expectations of serving up to 450 K-12 teachers and an unknown number of COE students (pre-service teachers). We consulted with ITD for guidance that was needed to replace their temporary equipment as well as the cost. They provided a cost estimate for this project of $98,668, details of which are provided in the budget breakdown. Thank you for your consideration of this project.
