The Child Development Center and the Ann Campbell Early Learning Center provides students from College of Education and College of Human Services a place to complete pre-service, practicum, and internships in an early childhood setting as they work towards completion of their degree. In any given year, we engage approximately 55 Education students completing their practicum experience,12 students completing internships, and 120 education students completing observation hours in our classrooms representative of over 10 different courses. Most of these students will enroll in ELED 3300 Digital Applications for Teaching and Learning. This course is designed to better prepare teacher candidates specifically in the areas of emerging technologies and how best to utilize them for teaching and learning. Providing students with opportunities to engage in practical application of these new skills in a natural setting will better prepare them when they enter the workforce. To do this, we will install an interactive display board in each of our preschool classrooms at the CDC and ACE Learning Center. Students will use the interactive display board as part of their lesson plans and to assist the children with opportunities to use technology to enhance their learning.
