In order to provide improved instruction and a better learning environment for over a thousand nursing and pre-nursing students, several items identified by the School of Nursing faculty warrant consideration for funding. The equipment in CKNB room 106 is in need of upgrade in order to be deemed a Master Classroom. Additionally, wireless mouse computer controllers for all master classrooms in CKNB, and a wireless lapel microphone for CKNB 121 will allow instructors to hold the attention of students by moving about the room while speaking and advancing computerized audio-visuals. Portable Master Classroom equipment for CKNB 109 and 209, which are currently nursing laboratories, will make these rooms more versatile by allowing them to function as Master Classrooms when not needed for laboratory experiences. With the current scarcity of classroom space, this versatility is particularly significant. A public address sound system for CKNB 121 (seats 110 students) will allow all students to hear clearly and it will allow the current projector (which has no sound) to be used for instruction via video. Further, it will allow clear sound from all current programming such as VHS video, CD ROM, and to the Internet which contains many vital nursing resources and much information.
