The equipment on this proposal is essential to adequately conduct foundation-level art and design, sculpture, and fine arts computer classes in the Todd building. The increase in the number of classrooms for existing media areas, along with the orgination of new classrooms for interdisciplinary art activities, necessitates these purchases. Without much of this equipment we would move into empty classrooms and studio labs in Todd. In a typical academic year, thirty-five sections of foundation-level art and design are taught with twenty students in a section, five sections of sculpture are taught with fifteen students in a section, and four sections of fine arts computer are taught with twelve students in a section (currently a large closet). Therefore these requests will benefit 823 students per year.
