Replacement of Existing Technology
The existing printer in KOM 161 no longer operates effectively and reliably due to the age of the printer, which is more than 10 years old. The existing visual presenter in PH 314B often displays a greenish cast on screen, which makes viewing of documents or coursework very difficulty for the students. Work orders have been requested and completed, but the problem continues to recur.

A new printer is needed in KOM 161 for students to print assignments, to print quizzes that are administered in class, and to print supplementary materials needed for instructional classroom activities. Approximately 600 undergraduate DS students annually attend classes in KOM 161. This number is calculated from the numbers of DSPS 0800 (Learning Strategies) and MATH 0990 (Basic Geometry) sections that are regularly taught in this classroom for fall, spring, and summer semesters. A new visual presenter is needed in PH 314B, from which students take their class notes for instruction and presentation of course content. Approximately 500 undergraduate DS students annually attend classes in PH 314B. This number is calculated from the numbers of DSPM 0800 (Elementary Algebra) and DSPM 0850 (Intermediate Algebra) sections that are regularly offered in PH 314B by the Developmental Studies Department for fall, spring, and summer semesters.
