• 6 Computer for Geoscience to expand the capacity of the student lab in KOM 308 from 10 to 16 machines • 6 Laptop Computers for Communications Disorders for the development of a computer lab for use by students CDIS 4550, 4560, 4570, 4580. Students have limited access to desktop computers in six clinical therapy rooms; three therapy rooms lack any computer. This lack of access was a negative factor in our recent Program Review. Access to computers needs to be specific to the Communication Disorders discipline in order to protect confidentiality of clients as required by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and to permit students’ access to computers at short notice when needed during therapy. • Master classroom for Art (Todd 355)—will assist in finishing off unrenovated space on the 3rd floor. This room will be used for Print Making classes. • 5 laptop computers to recruit doctoral candidates to the new PhD program. The university’s current assistantship package is competitive, but we hope this addition will give us an edge in attracting top quality candidates in these important early years when we are building our program’s reputation. • Monitored lock for door where portable lab is located.
