Turning Room VIS 178 into a Master Classroom: The classroom condition is bad and deteriorating fast. HVAC problems and water leaks through the ceiling and side wall have made the classroom uninviting. The partition wall used in the back of the room is not adequate since students walk through and talk while classes are in session. This room has been reclassified recently as “unrestricted” and is currently serving students from the ETIS Department as well as other departments from across campus. It is anticipated that the room will be widely used when turned into a master classroom. Students enrolled in Engineering Technology courses are required by our accreditation agency, ABET, to present their work electronically to the whole class. The technology will be also used by the instructor to teach software tools (such as MultiSim, AutoCad, etc.) and to perform simulations, demonstrations, and searches during lectures. This room currently serves about 400 Eng. Tech. students/year enrolled in six sections of ET 3601, 3602, 3610, and 3615 as well as other university courses. The room currently accommodates 48 students.
