Upgrade KOM 307, 321 and 323. Although officially "master classrooms," these rooms lack many of the features of rooms typically given this designation. We propose that all three rooms be improved as much as funds permit, with the following priorities: 1. Lights that can be turned off above the projection screen in all three rooms. This can be done by changing the present left and right on/off light banks to front and back on/off light banks (for about $2700) or by installing dimmable lights (see priorities 6 and 7 below). 2. Install pull-down blackout shades in all three rooms (similar to the ones in KOM 300). Cost unknown. 3. Install electrical outlets every 4 feet along walls of KOM 307 for student notebook computers. Add circuits as necessary. Cost unknown. 4. Upgrade KOM 307 to a full master classroom, adding the following missing components: - VCR/DVD w/ Security Rack Mount ($300) - AMX System Control Package ($10000) - AV Equipment Rack, Cables, & Accessories ($5000) - Audio Playback/PA System ($4000) - AV Installation Labor ($4500) - Classroom Performance System (500) 5. Install electrical outlets every 4 feet along walls of KOM 321 and 323 for student notebook computers. Add circuits as necessary. Cost unknown. 6. Instead of on/off light banks, use dimmable lights in KOM 307. Cost unknown. 7. Instead of on/off light banks, use dimmable lights in KOM 321 and 323. Cost unknown. 8. Replace worn-out flooring in KOM 307 with new tile or carpet. Cost unknown. 9. Replace worn-out flooring in KOM 321 and 323 with new tile or carpet. Cost unknown. 10. Upgrade KOM 321 to a full master classroom, adding the following missing components: - VCR/DVD w/ Security Rack Mount ($300) - AMX System Control Package ($10000) - AV Equipment Rack, Cables, & Accessories ($5000) - Audio Playback/PA System ($4000) - AV Installation Labor ($4500) 11. Add second projector and screen to KOM 323.
