Academic Server upgrade - The academic server (frank) was purchased as a V class server in June 1998. The server has gone through several upgrades of additional memory and additional CPU's, but the V class is scheduled to reach end-of-life in December 2005. This request is to upgrade the academic server (frank) from a V2600 to a rp7420 server. The total cost of the replacement server is $218,000. This is to request that 50% of the cost come from TAF funds. ITD will fund the other half of the cost.
