Funds are requested to: renew 3 databases/licenses, purchase 1 new database subscription, and pay access code fees for an online learning module. (All MTSU students may access these resources; however I will quantify for accounting students only.) Line item 1: license renewal to American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' database provides access to professional accounting and auditing literature. Line item 2: RIA tax database provides access to the Internal Revenue Service code, regulations, and court cases. Accounting students must learn to use these databases because both are prevalent in practice and these skills are tested on the CPA exam. Line item 3: the MSDN Academic Alliance license allows us to install many different MS products on classroom/lab computers as well as permitting free copies of the software for students. Line item 4: Audit Analytics database provides independent research resources to investment, accounting, insurance, legal, regulatory, and academic communities. All undergraduate accounting majors (approximately 500) and MS students (approximately 100) will benefit from these subscriptions directly, in addition to business students (approximately 3800). Line item 5: access fees to an Intermediate Accounting readiness online learning module providing required review for students entering Intermediate I, allowing for individualized instruction (approximately 256 students.)
