Replace Remaining VH4802 Switches Part 1 - This project will replace older 100 Mbps Ethernet workgroup switches serving Business Aerospace and Nursing buildings with new 100 Mbps switches. The older switches lack some features present in new switches, particularly Gigabit uplink capability and policy application. This is the first phase of a two phase project, with other buildings slated for switch replacement in FY2008. Existing equipment is four years old, has limits on throughput and security options, and are out of warranty. Updating this technology will allow for greater options for worm, virus, and denial of service containment as well as better network performance for the users. This portion of the project will replace approximately 700 ports.
