Multimedia materials are now an integrated part of foreign language textbooks and they are used on daily basis by foreign language faculty and GTAs in their classroom instruction. However there are only 2 master classrooms on the third floor in BDA and our faculty and GTAs have to give up the use of multimedia materials when there is not enough equipment from the language lab to be checked out for classroom use. Such a lack of multimedia capable classrooms in BDA has seriously hindered foreign language instruction at MTSU. We ask to convert BDA 305 into a master classroom so that both our faculty and GTAs will be able to use of multimedia materials and online resources in their classroom instruction. We also request the renewal of a subscription to DishNetwork International Satellite TV programming service. The service is currently used on a regular basis by our faculty in the teaching of eleven foreign languages courses at MTSU. We need to add two new Slingbox for video streaming. Slingbox will enable us to broadcast satellite TV programming on the Internet so that faculty can make use of them in their classrooms.
