The Criminal Justice Administration Department provides students with experiential learning opportunities to facilitate learning. Several of the courses include a description of evidence analysis, with much of the examination requiring microscopic viewing. Though the Department has a limited number of individual microscopes, they are not in sufficient number to allow all students to view the material within a reasonable time. We propose purchasing one microscope to use for classroom demonstration. Students would then be able to view what the professor is viewing and describing in real-time. As technology use increases in the discipline, this proposal will advance the learning benefit with relatively minimal expense.
