The room has not been updated since the Bragg Mass Communication building was constructed in 1991. Age, inferior construction and upkeep issues make the room inadequate as a master classroom. The outdated teaching workstation with exposed wiring across the classroom entryway poses a serious issue to students and faculty. Its placement in the room makes for tight and awkward access into the room as well as creating ADA issues. The facility is below AEJMC standards for re-accreditation in 2010. A new teaching station and reconfiguration of the classroom will provide more efficient access, ADA compliance and a safer/productive instruction environment. Approximately 300 students a week use the room. The School of Journalism as well as other departments outside of Mass Communication uses it.
