1.) The College of Liberal Arts would like to renovate an existing master classroom—PH 215. This room was one of the first classrooms converted to technology. It was a good choice as the space is assigned to the dean, and floats among the 11 departments—consequently, it is a heavily used classroom in a heavily used building. Yet, after many years, the technology and furniture need updating. 2.) The English faculty wish to integrate technology into their traditional courses, nearly all of which are taught in traditional classrooms. Faculty have asked that the department propose TAF acquisition of two portable Master Classrooms as the first step in their using materials many of them are preparing because of their research interests as well as their desire to enrich their teaching. The department also understands that the portable MCs should be available for use by non-English faculty. We see this as a way to increase use of technology without the great expense of converting every classroom to full MC status. Art: The LaserJet will allow students, to become familiar with up-to-date hardware that they will encounter in work situation and create modern portfolios use when seeking employment or applying to graduate school
