Equipment is requested to make a classroom into a videoconferencing room. The Mathematical Sciences department offers several courses in a videoconferencing format. This includes at least two graduate statistics courses, which contain about eight students on campus and from one to three students in Chattanooga; and two mathematics education courses, which contain about twenty students total, split between on-campus and off-campus students. Currently, the department uses one of two rooms, one in the basement of KOM, one in BAS. However, these rooms are in such demand that scheduling is difficult, especially for the in-demand evening hours Monday through Thursday. It is important to schedule these classes in the evenings for the benefit of the graduate students who have regular jobs during the day. The classroom in question is already a master classroom, so the proposal is to add the communications equipment to the equipment already present.
