Replacement of Existing Technology
Most computers in the lab are 386 units with some 486 units. new, updated instruction software is available for many of our subject areas but at this time we are forced to continue to use the outdated material we already have. This is because the old computers wont run the current software. We cannot give the most recent qualifications tests for the same reason, a test required of all of our Maintenance Management students.

This proposal is for upgrading the computers in the Airport Campus computer lab, AWS 152. These computers have been in use for about eight years and some of them do not function anymore. We have several classes that use them during the semester within the Maintenance Management emphasis and some Professional Pilot students as well. This gives the potential for use by over 100 students as a conservative estimate. The computers will hopefully in the future be tied in with the campus network to provide a full-service computer lab to the students.
