The TXMD program strives to utilize more efficiently the newly approved computerized apparel product development software through the use of a compatible digitizer and plotter to work with the 3-D body scanner and computerized apparel product development software. This integration of these new technologies would benefit not only TXMD students (approx 200) but research agendas and other programs which would have application to 3-D body imaging. These technologies would be incorporated in TXMD 1110, 2170/2320,3150,4220,4230,3140/3220 and 4160/3320 which are apparel patternmaking courses where students learn to develop their own patterns from individual measurements. Most companies today only utilize manual patternmaking for the initial sample making process and these additions are the most frequently used patternmaking software programs in the apparel industry today.
