When approved, the Department of Art’s choices in equipment and software in this TAF proposal will help our students 1. Permit our students to be safer when working in Todd Hall and 2. allow our students to be increasingly competitive as graduate school applicants and as professionals within their chosen fields. •Sculpture - These items will help to expand the tools in the foundry and create a safer, more accessible work environment. •Graphic Design - The software will allow students to become familiar with current software that they will encounter in a work situation and to create modern portfolios they will use when seeking employment or applying to graduate school. •Ceramics – The computer will allow Ceramic students to create digital portfolios that they will use when seeking employment or applying to graduate schools. •Painting – The spray booth will allow a greater flexibility in creating effects in all forms of painting. The spray booth will remove the fumes, fumes that can be toxic and create life safety issues; especially with pregnant students and faculty. This proposal would impact approximately 600 students.
