Project Purpose: to update the audio/visual equipment for the MTSU Center for Counseling & Psychological Services. CCPS is a non-profit training clinic of the Counseling Program. CCPS is located at 855 West College St., near Continuing Studies. CCPS is staffed by graduate students completing training under supervision of counseling faculty. All practicum students see clients at CCPS to fulfill the requirements of the class. Approximately 25 students per year enroll in the practicum class and provide counseling services to the community (over 200 sessions per year). Many of the counseling classes are held at CCPS. In addition, psychology faculty use CCPS for classes, conducting assessments and providing services. CCPS includes 3 individual counseling rooms, 1 child therapy room, 1 classroom, 1 group room. Rooms are currently equipped with very dated a/v recording equipment based on analog technology (VCRs). This proposal is designed to provide funding to update the equipment to digital technology, providing better quality recording of sessions. The system proposed will allow for digital recordings of sessions to a server, updated cameras with pan/tilt/zoom, live supervision using "teleprompter" type equipment in the rooms, monitoring of all activities by director, and security measures to safeguard property. *Project could be partially funded*
