Funds are requested for: Line item 1): The RIA tax database provides access to the Internal Revenue Code, Regulations, and court cases. Students use the databases for research, preparation for the CPA Examination, and subsequent practice. It is an essential part of all student tax research projects. Line item 2): The MSDN Academic Alliance license allows installation of various Microsoft products on classroom and lab computers as well as permitting free copies of software for student use. Line item 3:) Access fee to the Aleks on-line accounting software is an integral part of the Intermediate Accounting Initiative. This software is used to help prepare students enrolling in Intermediate Accounting courses during the year. Line item 4): These two new computers and one printer will replace the current computer hardware in BAS N428, the Accounting Library. Line items 1, 2, and 4 will benefit approximately 700 undergraduate and 100 graduate students; line item 3 will benefit approximately 250 undergraduate students. All MTSU students can access software installed on lab computers; all other items are limited to Accounting students.
