Davis Science Building, room 100, was one of the first "master Classrooms" outfitted on the MTSU campus. Much of the original equipment is in need of replacement and the room should be reconfigured. Room capacity is 120 students and it is heavily used by the departments of Biology and Chemistry. Class occupancy for Fall '11 and Spring '12 was almost 1200 students in the room for three hours/week each semester (F'11: BIOL 7 classes, 21 hrs/week, 799 enrolled, CHEM/PSCI 5 classes, 15 hrs/week, 394 enrolled; Sp.'12: BIOL 7 classes, 21 hrs/week, 718 enrolled, CHEM/PSCI 6 classes, 18 hrs/week, 476 entolled). This request is to update the room to current Master Classroom standards (replace all outdated equipment) and room modifications to include adding two additional dropdown screens and projectors (on the left and right side of the room),(current center screen only results in poor viewing angles from some parts of the room), replace chalk borads with white boards (smart board for one location), reposition periodic table charts, and modify lighting as necessary. The technology, lights, and sound should all be tied into the AMX.
