Master Classroom

The Department proposes to update two standard classrooms -- PH 201 and 214 -- We currently represent 7 classrooms in PH and only 1 has a master technology station. The remaining 6 classrooms are using technology carts that are very bulky and barely fit in the aisle between the desks. The cart has to be rolled to the back of the classroom after each class. The power and Ethernet cords constantly get rolled over which causes network issues (We have instructional emergencies pending right now for this reason). The upgrade is necessary for reliable and effective instruction. This upgrade will benefit approximately 1500 students from Sociology, Anthropology, History and English in general education and upper division courses. The current carts will be returned to be used in other locations on campus. We fully understand that there will be no new furniture, new floors, new ceilings, ect. We are only asking for permanent master technology stations to be added to the existing space.
