Creating an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Statement

Spring 2021

More Details

This workshop will focus on creating an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Statement to communicate and promote inclusive teaching practices. An EDI statement conveys one’s values, commitment, and future plans for fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion. An EDI statement on course syllabi sets the tone for what students can expect in your classroom, assignments, and feedback as well as in your discipline. The EDI statement is often a requirement in application and hiring processes. Participants are encouraged to review their teaching philosophy and research statements prior to attending.

This workshop will be of interest to both faculty and graduate students.

You will receive a Zoom meeting link the day before the workshop.
