International Student Transfers
If you are already in the United States
If you are in F-1 status at another school and will be a student at Middle Tennessee
State University, you will need to transfer your SEVIS record to Middle Tennessee
State University. You must obtain a Transfer Verification form that has been completed
by the international student advisor at your current or previous school. (The form is available here.)
Your advisor will need to indicate a "release date" on this form. this sit he date
that your SEVIS record will be released from your current or previous school to Middle
Tennessee State University.
You must complete any coursework or classes currently in progress before your school
can release your record to Middle Tennessee State University. Once the release date
has been reached, the International Undergraduate Admissions Office will issue you
a temporary Form I-20 for your program at Middle Tennessee State University. We cannot
issue this I-20 until the release date has been reached. This temporary I-20 indicates
your intention to transfer to Middle Tennessee State University. It can be used for
travel and reentry to the U.S. prior to your first term of enrollment at Middle Tennessee
State University.
Once you arrive on campus, you must complete the check-in process with International
Undergraduate Admissions Office and attend Orientation. You will then be permitted
to register for classes.
After registering for classes, you must provide International Undergraduate Admissions
Office with a copy of your processed registration form in order to complete the transfer
process. International Undergraduate Admissions Office will then issue you a new Form
I-20 which indicates that your transfer to Middle Tennessee State University has been
completed.
