The following scholarship and award opportunities are available in the Jennings A. Jones College of Business. For additional scholarship information, please contact individual Jones College of Business departments and the MTSU Financial Aid and Scholarship Office.
Accounting Alumni Appreciation Day Scholarship and Service Award
Accounting Faculty Award
Archer-Johnstone Scholarship
Awarded to management students who are residents of Tennessee or Mississippi, have
completed at least 55 hours, have an overall grade point average of 3.0, and have
demonstrated leadership abilities. This $1,000 award will be applied toward tuition.
There are two award recipients annually.
Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Scholarships
William R. Snodgrass Scholarship: One $1,500 and one $750 scholarship awarded to a Middle or West Tennessee, Southern
Kentucky, or Northern Alabama high school senior or college student with a business-related
major such as accounting, economics, finance, information systems, management or marketing.
Billy W. Balch Scholarship
Undergraduate or graduate economics majors are eligible who have at least a 3.0 GPA.
The scholarship is for $1,000 to be divided equally between fall and spring semesters
for one academic year.
Ivey Chance Memorial Scholarship
Business education, marketing education, and office management majors are eligible
in their junior year. The scholarship is a one-time award of $500. Criteria include:
completion of 80 semester hours including 15 semester hours in major, at least a 2.75
cumulative GPA and 3.0 GPA in major.
Bobby N. Corcoran Scholarship
Incoming freshmen that exhibit a talent and desire to study economics and finance
have first priority. The scholarship is a one-time award, and the amount varies based
on the availability of funds. Criteria include: incoming freshmen, economics or finance
major, GPA, and financial need.
Firman L. Cunningham Scholarship
Juniors majoring in economics are eligible. The scholarship is a one-time award, typically,
based on financial need.
Dean's Scholarship
Three $1,000 awards are given each year, selected by advisors.
Joe Dearman Memorial Award
James C. Douthit Scholarship in Business Administration
Awarded to a Business Administration major who is a Tennessee resident and has completed
55 semester hours by the end of the summer semester. This $500 scholarship is awarded
for the fall semester.
Economics and Finance Faculty Scholarship
Economics and finance majors are eligible in their junior year. The scholarship is
a one-time award, and the amount varies based on the availability of funds. Criteria
include: financial need, high GPA (preferably 3.0 or above), must enroll for one more
year in the next fall semester, must have completed at least 60 credit hours, and
at least one semester at MTSU.
Nancy J. Fann Business Education Scholarship
Need based scholarship for one student in the Jennings A. Jones College of Business
with first preference to be given to a student majoring in business education, marketing
education, and office management. Recipient must have completed 30 semester hours
of credit with at least 15 hours at MTSU and have an overall and major GPA of 3.0
or higher. The scholarship is to be awarded and renewed on a semester-by-semester
basis.
Bernard Goldstein Scholarship
Marketing majors are eligible in their junior year. The scholarship is a one-time
award, and the amount varies from $250 - $500 based on the availability of funds.
The scholarship is awarded to the junior marketing major with the highest GPA.
Frank Goodwin Memorial Scholarship
Incoming freshmen majoring in management, marketing, or business administration are
eligible. The amount of the scholarship varies from $250-$500 and may not be awarded
each year. The criteria include: incoming freshman student; minimum 3.2 high school
GPA; and major in management, marketing, or business administration. Financial need
and leadership qualities are also considered.
Grady R. Haynes Scholarship
Award given to a graduate of a Rutherford County high school.
Hawkins Endowed Scholarship
The Hawkins Endowed Scholarship Fund is a $1,500 annual scholarship given to one full
time undergraduate student in the Jones College of Business. Recipients shall maintain
the award for up to eight semesters (fall and spring) by maintaining full-time student
status and a minimum GPA of 3.5, on a 4.0 scale, on all completed coursework. If a
recipient fails to maintain the required level of academic performance, or changes
to a degree program outside the Jones College of Business, they shall forfeit any
unpaid balance of their award.
Charles E. Hodge II Scholarship
A $1,500 award per semester for up to six semesters, selected by Student Success Committee.
Ann and David Hoke Endowed Scholarship
Real estate students are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship.
Joe B. Jackson Endowed Scholarship
Business majors are eligible in their junior or senior year. Criteria include: a
3.0 GPA or better and have graduated from a high school located in Rutherford County,
Tennessee.
Charlene Bentley Key and Jan Key Marks Endowed Scholarship
An annual scholarship of $1,000 for a selected student with a 3.0+ GPA, and 60+ credit
hours.
Mark and Sheila King Scholarship
This award of $2,500 given annually to a Tennessee resident with a 3.0+ GPA represents a
commitment to developing leadership, life skills, and industry experience.
Robert L. Martin Memorial Scholarship
Economics majors are eligible in their junior year, and the scholarship is a one-time
award. Criteria include: full-time student, junior standing, 2.7 GPA or better. The
scholarship also considers academic performance and financial need.
Tommy T. Martin Chair of Insurance Scholarships
Insurance majors and minors are eligible. Various resources fund the scholarships
and criteria vary based on the scholarship. Typical criteria include GPA and hours

Elwin W. (Wink) Midgett Scholarship
Accounting majors are eligible. The criteria include: full-time student, accounting
major, completion of ACTG 3110, Intermediate Accounting I, have at least a 3.0 GPA
in all accounting courses completed, and at least 3.2 cumulative GPA.
Murfreesboro Credit Bureau Scholarship
Entering freshmen that graduate from a Rutherford County high school majoring in the
Jennings A. Jones College of Business are eligible. The scholarship is renewable for
a maximum of 8 academic semesters. Criteria include: Rutherford County resident for
at least one year, proven academic record, and good moral character. The scholarship
is for $1,500 to be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters.
Outstanding Business Administration, Management, and Marketing Senior Awards
Awards of $200-$400 are given to the graduating senior in each area who has the highest
GPA.
Outstanding Economics and Finance Senior Award
Award of $100 is given to the outstanding senior who has the highest GPA with consideration
being given to student organization and career field involvement.
Outstanding Junior, Senior, and Highest GPA majoring in Information Systems
Outstanding Office Management Senior Award
Award of $100 is given to the outstanding senior who has the highest GPA with consideration
being given to student organization and career field involvement.
Charles R. Pruett Endowed Scholarship
An award of $1,500 is given annually to a rising senior with a 2.8+ GPA, preferably
a current or former intern with NorthWestern Mutual.
Elaine Stepp Parchment Award
Award is given to the outstanding junior majoring in business education, marketing
education, or office management. Recipient must be current, full-time student at MTSU
for last two semesters, and have completed 60-89 semester hours toward the major.
Primus Financial Services Scholarship
Finance majors are eligible in their junior and senior years, and the scholarship
is a one-time award. Criteria include: junior or senior standing, 2.8 GPA or better,
and also considers participation in a leadership capacity in campus or community activities.
Andrew C. Rambo Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Andrew Clark (Andy) Rambo by FCM Cares Inc., this one-year
scholarship is awarded to an MBA student in the accelerated cohort program of the
Flex MBA. The scholarship is for a 12-month period, during which the recipient is
expected to finish the MBA program. Recipients must have an undergraduate degree from
MTSU, must have been admitted into the MBA program, and must be Tennessee residents. Mr.
Rambo was board chair of First Community Bank and board member of First Community
Mortgage.
W. Wallace Robertson Accounting Scholarship
Accounting majors are eligible in their junior and senior years. The scholarships
are for an academic year. Typically, the scholarships consider factors such as GPA,
involvement in organizations, community work, and other work related to the field.
Henry Ruppel Scholarship
Marketing majors are eligible in their junior or senior years, and the amount varies
each year.
Stokely Scholarship
Economics and Finance majors are eligible in their junior year. The scholarship is
a one-time award, and the amount varies based on the availability of funds. Criteria
include: financial need, high GPA (preferably 3.0 or above), must enroll for one more
year in the coming Fall semester, must have completed at least 60 credit hours and
at least one semester at MTSU.
Textbook Brokers Scholarship
A $1,000 award is given annually to an Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship major
or minor who has completed 60+ credit hours.
Fowler I. Todd Management and Marketing Scholarship
Management and marketing majors are eligible in their junior year. The $250 scholarship
is awarded for one year (half given in the fall semester and half given in the spring
semester). The scholarship is awarded to the junior management or marketing major
with the highest GPA.
J. D. and Marge Vance Scholarship
Marketing majors are eligible at the end of their freshman year, and the scholarship
is renewable for 3 years as long as the student maintains at least a 3.0 GPA. The
amount of the scholarship is full tuition for fall and spring semesters. The criteria
include: sophomore status, minimum 3.0 GPA, Tennessee resident, full-time student,
and marketing major. Financial need and leadership qualities are also considered.
Jack O. Weatherford Chair of Finance Scholarships
Finance majors with a Financial Institutions Management emphasis are eligible. Various
financial institutions fund the scholarships and criteria vary. Typical criteria include
GPA and hours earned. Details and applications are available in the Weatherford Chair

Women in Commercial Real Estate Scholarship
A $1,000 award is given annually to a student from an underrepresented group.
