AI In Business Workshop Series

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the way we teach, conduct research, and prepare students for success in an increasingly technology-driven business environment. To support our continued leadership and innovation in business education, the Jones College of Business is pleased to announce the AI in Business Faculty Workshop Series. This workshop series is organized in collaboration with the IT Resources Director, the JCB Faculty Development Committee, and the MTSU’s AI Community of Practice. This workshop series offers hands-on, faculty-led learning to develop practical skills and explore scholarly topics. Faculty are encouraged to bring course materials, cases, datasets, or relevant content to directly apply concepts to their teaching and research. Participants will engage in interactive activities addressing real-world instructional and research needs, with opportunities for discussion during a Q&A session. Whether you’re new to AI or expanding your knowledge, these sessions deliver practical, immediately useful strategies to enhance teaching, research, and student engagement. The AI In Business Workshop series is designed to support Jones College faculty in using AI effectively and responsibly across teaching, research, and professional work. During the workshops, we explore topics such as:

– MTSU AI policies, guidelines, and responsible use
– Academic integrity, ethics, privacy, and data security
– Available AI tools and institutional resources
– Strategies and frameworks for creating effective prompts
– Assignment redesign for AI-enabled environment
– Updating rubrics for AI-enabled student work
– Discipline-specific examples: accounting, finance, economics classes
– Short case studies from faculty already piloting AI-aware assignments

The first 40 Jones College of Business faculty who register and complete the full workshop series will be eligible to receive a one-year license for an MTSU-approved AI platform, subject to funding availability and MTSU’s ITD review and approval. Additional details, including the selected platform, will be provided as they become available.
