Office of Prevention Science and Recovery

The MTSU Office of Prevention Science and Recovery (OPSR) is a Rutherford County funded organization that utilizes data driven, evidence-based research to address the opioid epidemic in Rutherford County and serves as a resource to other Tennessee counties.

Funded through opioid settlement dollars, OPSR seeks to facilitate local stakeholder engagement to maximize settlement resources and serve as administrator of Rutherford County opioid settlement projects, programs, and research. OPSR leverages the large-scale grant management expertise and experience of the MTSU Center for Health and Human Services (CHHS) and the solution focused data analytics experience of the MTSU Data Science Institute (DSI).
