Preparing to Arrive at MTSU

Make sure you review the information here and submit all of the important requirements to MTSU before you arrive on campus.

  • Confirm My Intent to Enroll at MTSU
  • Purchase My Health Insurance
As a requirement of your attendance to MTSU every semester, you must provide proof that you have obtained adequate health insurance. The minimum requirement for international students is that they have coverage of at least $30,000USD for an emergency evacuation and $30,000USD for repatriation of remains. Feel free to visit PGH Global and look into a “Trailblazer” plan, the “Compass Silver” from ISO Student Health Insurance, or “Elite” plan from International Student Insurance as you begin your search for adequate insurance.
  • Orientation Schedule
Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students to attend as it covers important information regarding immigration and school policies.

Claim your MTSU Email and Pipeline Account

MTSU’s Pipeline system is known as the “Gateway to the MTSU Campus!” In Pipeline you are able to view and update your personal information, as well as view your student account, student records, financial aid (if applicable), and register for courses. It is a valuable tool that you will utilize while studying here at MTSU. Additionally, your MT Student email account is how you will stay connected to campus.

  • Activate My MTSU Email Account
Read login instructions written under “Student MT Mail” and then click on the link. You will be directed to the page where you can login, setup your new password, and start receiving your MTSU email.
  • Activate My MTSU Pipeline Account
Activate your pipeline account now so that it is easy for you to use the internet and Campus Computer Labs once you arrive. Select “New User” under the login box. Then, select Student.  On the following page instead of SSN you can put your MTSU ID (M number) and date of birth. Read and accept the agreement, note your login ID, and set up your new password. Your PipelineMT account is now ready to use!

Apply for On-Campus Housing

Living on campus places you at the center of the university community, ready for both academic and co-curricular activities. Many students find that MTSU residence halls or apartments are the right choice for them.  However, space is limited and granted on a first come, first served basis so make sure to apply as early as possible. Off-Campus Housing Options

Most students at MTSU choose to live off-campus.  Many apartment complexes are within walking distance of the university while others offer free shuttles to campus or are along public bus routes. Learn more.
