Pioneering Excellence in Online Education

Dr. Martindale brings over twenty-five years of transformative experience in higher education as both a professor and administrator. His unwavering commitment to student success drives him to create effective and innovative learning environments. Dr. Martindale’s impact is profound, having contributed to the development and delivery of nine fully online degrees, spanning from undergraduate certificates to the doctoral level.

A seasoned educator, Dr. Martindale has taught over sixty online courses and personally developed twenty-six, leveraging his expertise in instructional technology and online learning. His dedication to research is evident through over forty scholarly publications and more than one hundred presentations, including invited talks and keynotes. His groundbreaking research projects, funded by prestigious agencies such as the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education, have totaled $5,200,000 in grants.

In recognition of his leadership and influence, Dr. Martindale was elected President of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) in 2019, a testament to his stature in instructional design and technology globally. AECT, boasting over 2400 scholars from 28 countries, underscores his international impact.

Meet David, our dynamic Director of Operations at MTSU Online. With over two decades of experience as an Online/Distance Learning Instructor, David brings a wealth of expertise in educational strategy and curriculum development. He oversees our dedicated staff and directs every facet of our operational procedures, including faculty partnerships for online course design and institutional strategies for quality assurance in online education.

David’s passion for education extends beyond the classroom. He has developed impactful educational plans for community programs and charter schools, and he actively contributes to University Curriculum Development Committees. A sought-after speaker, David has presented at prestigious conferences such as NISOD, DLA, and eLearn, focusing on training new faculty and mobile learning.

In addition to his leadership at MTSU Online, David serves on the editorial board of the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration and is involved in esteemed educational organizations like the College Art Association (CAA) and the National Coalition of Educators in the Ceramic Arts (NCECA). David earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Denver, underscoring his commitment to academic excellence and innovation in online education.

Beyond education, Dr. Oneal boasts extensive experience in film and video production, having produced two documentaries for Prairie Public, a PBS affiliate. Meet RaeAnne Pardue, a proud graduate of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a degree in Communications. Before joining MTSU Online, RaeAnne built a diverse career path as a pharmaceutical sales representative for 7 years, a dedicated preschool teaching assistant for 5 years, and most recently, she gained 8 years of valuable experience as an administrative assistant in the financial services industry.

Excited to return to her hometown of Murfreesboro, RaeAnne is thrilled to join the MTSU family. She is married and has three children who keep her busy and motivated every day.

In her current role, RaeAnne provides essential support to the Associate Vice Provost for Online Learning, the MTSU Online Director, and the entire MTSU Online unit. She excels in performing administrative and clerical tasks, ensuring exceptional service to students, faculty, staff, and the public.
