SSB

Self-Service Banner 9 (SSB9)

MTSU utilizes Ellucian’s Banner suite as its student information system. The web-based application that is part of Banner is called SSB (Self-Service Banner) and is how users access basic functions of the system. The MTSU community accesses SSB through its better known name, PipelineMT.

In June 2025, MTSU was notified by Ellucian that the campus must upgrade from SSB8, the current version, to the new SSB9 no later than December 31, 2025. ITD, Academic Affairs, and other divisions are working together to put these upgrades in place.

The upgrades to SSB9 will be phased in throughout the Fall 2025 semester. Below are the projected “go-live” dates for each section.

Note: With Spring 2026 Registration underway, the Registration and Student/Admissions menus will be upgraded after the registration period ends to ensure that the system stays consistent for students, faculty, and staff. MTSU is working with Ellucian and the Tennessee Board of Regents to upgrade these menus in February 2026, before priority registration begins for Summer and Fall 2026.
