Self-Service Banner 9 (SSB9)

MTSU utilizes Ellucian’s Banner suite as its student information system. The web-based application that is part of Banner is called SSB (Self-Service Banner) and is how users access basic functions of the system. The MTSU community accesses SSB through its better known name, PipelineMT.

In June 2025, MTSU was notified by Ellucian that the campus must upgrade from SSB8, the current version, to the new SSB9 no later than December 31, 2025. ITD, Academic Affairs, and other divisions are working together to put these upgrades in place.

The upgrades to SSB9 were phased in starting in the Fall 2025 semester. Below are the projected “go-live” dates for each pending section or the date that the new application went live for users. 

MTSU is working with Ellucian and the Tennessee Board of Regents on patching and testing to finalize upgrades to the Registration and Student/Admissions menus.

All SSB Applications are still accessed via PipelineMT.This upgrade will bring new features for students, faculty, and staff. Training resources are being developed and will be shared on the linked pages below as the upgrade progresses.
