Creating an Online Proctored Exam or Activity Now

Dear faculty teaching online, Feb 12, 2025
As you may know, Meazure Learning is the vendor MTSU contracts with for exam proctoring within D2L. Meazure Learning owns both Examity and ProctorU, and they have discontinued Examity. So now, MTSU and all of Meazure Learning’s other university clients will use ProctorU.
Meazure Learning and our ITD colleagues are working hard to integrate ProctorU into D2L. If you don’t need a proctored exam in the next 10 days or so, please wait. They hope to have the integration complete by February 14th.
Instructions if you need an online proctored exam immediately
You should not set up exams for your entire semester in ProctorU at this time. Set up only the exams you need right now.
- Creating an Exam
- To create a ProctorU proctored exam, go to go.proctoru.com and create your account.
- You must use your MTSU email address so that this account is synced with other future exams you create.
- Once you are logged into your ProctorU account, you will follow this process to add exams.
- Students taking proctored exams will also create a ProctorU account using their MTSU email address.
- During the proctored exam:
- The ProctorU “Review+” proctoring begins with a live proctor getting the student into the exam.
- Once your student is in the exam, the live proctoring person will exit and cannot interrupt during the session.
- The proctor will review the session and add incidents after the fact.
- If the student needs help, they have 24/7 student support, but a live proctor will not be in the exam the entire time.
- Student support
- Students taking proctored exams will also create a ProctorU account using their MTSU email address.
- This is the link for students on how to get started with ProctorU.
- Students can access the Test-taker library for additional student resources.
- Most of the articles students will need will be under Scheduling, Equipment Requirements, and Help and General.
- If students need assistance, please have them contact the 24/7 support team by phone, chat, or email.
As I mentioned, this is a temporary solution. I will reach out with more information as it becomes available.
If you have questions, please contact us using this link. Thank you for all that you do.
