Why MTSU Online?
MTSU Online is a nationally recognized program having recently been endorsed by the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) for outstanding quality. MTSU is also recognized as an Adult Learning Focused Institution of Higher Education and a Military Friendly School. MTSU is a public institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
MTSU Online Celebrates 20 Years!
MTSU Online began in the 1997 Fall Semester offering seven classes with 53 student enrollments. Today, MTSU offers eleven online (graduate and undergraduate) programs with an average of just over 400 courses offered, and 8,000 plus students enrolled each semester.
Online and Hybrid Programs
MTSU currently offers eleven online degrees (four undergraduate and seven graduate) with various concentrations. One of the most popular online degree programs at MTSU is the B.S. in Liberal Studies which offers extreme flexibility by allowing students to custom-design their online programs to meet individual needs and interests.
MTSU also offers three undergraduate and three graduate hybrid programs. Students enrolled in hybrid programs must take several on-ground courses to complete their degrees. Additional information is available at each degree site.
With the largest adult degree program in the State, MTSU has developed a streamlined program designed to help students
finish as quickly as possible. MTSU’s Prior Learning Assessment Program (PLA) lets students earn college credit for what they already know. Because student backgrounds and ambitions are unique, MTSU provides students a special
advisor to guide them through the process.
“The Tennessee Transfer Pathway guides students through the courses needed to help maximize credit transfer while preparing them to transfer seamlessly to a four-year institution offering the junior/senior level courses. However, if students transfer to a participating university before earning all the required credits for an associate degree, use the Tennessee Reverse Transfer program to earn an associate degree while completing a bachelor’s degree!”
