Accessibility

MTSU Campus Recreation strives to create a space for everyone.  We are continuing to make improvements to our facilities and programs to enhance accessibility for all patrons outlined below:

  • Button operated power doors at the main entrance and membership office.
  • An accessible, friendly entrance at our facility access desk.
  • Every Restroom includes accessible stalls.
  • The pool locker rooms include accessible shower stalls with fold down seats and hand showers.
  • Most drinking fountains and bottle fillers are at accessible heights.
  • A gender-neutral changing room with roll-in shower is available in the pool hallway.
  • Wheelchair friendly ramp at our indoor pool and zero entry at our outdoor pool.  Aquatic wheelchairs are available upon request.
  • Ramp to gymnasium spectator seating area.
  • Elevator located in the middle of the building.

Weight Room
  • Hammer Strength selector machines.
  • Life Fitness selector machines.
  • Life Fitness cable machines – Wheelchair accommodating.
Functional Fitness Room
  • Hammer Strength Power Racks – Wheelchair accommodating.
  • Battle Rope attachments on TRX A-Frame provide accessible cardio options for wheelchair users.

Training Programs

All training program options are designed to best fit the needs of all individuals.  Our Fitness Coordinator has a background in adaptive recreation and fitness training and provides training and assistance to all Personal Trainers and Fitness Specialists. Any specific needs can be stated when scheduling your appointment or at your Intake Session. Reach out to [email protected] if you have specific questions.

Group Fitness

Group Fitness strives to meet the needs of all participants. If you have specific accommodations, please contact us at [email protected] 3-5 business days in advance. There may be limits due to equipment availability, but we will do our best to meet your needs.

MTSU Campus Recreation Sports Programs tries to make every sport offering as inclusive as possible. Although we don’t have specific sport accommodations, we have the ability to make accommodations if requested. Please contact intramuralsports.mtsu.edu if you have specific questions.
