Facilities Reservations
Campus Recreation oversees a number of facilities to inspire and connect an active and strong MTSU community. Many of our spaces can be reserved by MTSU groups and external events.
To submit a Facility Reservation Request, fill out the Facility Request Form using the blue button below. Per Campus Recreation policies, Student Organization or University Sponsored event requests require 15 business days’ notice and External event requests require 30 business days’ notice due to requirements from the university’s Contracts Office. Longer, reasonable timeframes may be required for large events.
External events require an organizational W9 and a certificate of insurance.
We are not accepting birthday party reservations at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
Facility Reservation Policies & Procedures
MTSU Campus Recreation offers registered student organizations, campus units, and outside groups the opportunity to reserve Campus Recreation facilities for athletic and recreation activities as well as special events.
- To reserve space, the appropriate request form must be completed and submitted
- Reservations are on a first come first serve basis
- On campus groups will have first priority over off campus groups if received prior to approval of the off campus group
- Reservations must be received no later than
- 15 business days prior for Student Organization or University Sponsored event
- 30 business days prior for External Events
- Longer, reasonable timeframes may be required for large events.
- External groups are required to provide an organizational W9 and a Certificate of Insurance (please see specific coverage requirements below).
- All reservation requests must be approved by Campus Rec professional staff
- Rental of most spaces require a rental fee
- All rates are subject to change
- A deposit may be required
- Payment is required by the day of the event
- Outside food requests must follow the MTSU catering contract
- Upon request approval, you will be emailed an event approval confirmation
- Groups will abide by all facility usages policies of Campus Recreation and MTSU
- Groups renting a facility will be held financially responsible for any special cleaning, maintenance, or repair resulting from the event or activity
- Campus Recreation is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property belonging to the members of rental groups utilizing the facilities
- MTSU Event Insurance Requirements:
- Commercial general liability insurance in the amounts of, at the minimum, $300,000 per person/$1,000,000 per occurrence, $3,000,000 in the aggregate.
- Specifically, include coverage for injury to minor participants.
- Include coverage for child abuse and child sexual abuse/molestation. (Sexual Abuse and Molestation Insurance)
- The Contractor shall maintain sexual abuse and molestation insurance written on either an occurrence or a claims-made basis. This insurance may be written on a claims-made basis, but in the event that coverage is cancelled or non-renewed, the Contractor shall purchase an extended reporting or “tail coverage” of at least two (2) years after the Term.
- Any sexual abuse and molestation insurance policy shall have a limit of not less than one million dollars ($1,000,000) per occurrence and two million dollars ($2,000,000) in the aggregate.
- In lieu of this coverage requirement, the Contractor may provide an Educator’s Legal Liability (ELL) insurance policy endorsed to provide equivalent coverages as indicated in this provision.
- Additionally, insured must include: MTSU named as additional insured.

While the primary purpose of the Campus Recreation facilities is to provide recreation for fee paying students as well and faculty/staff who are members, there are various University departments and organizations who utilize the space for classes and activities.
Campus Recreations will allocate the required space at designated priority times for Campus, Student Affairs and student organizations.
Any fitness or exercise class must be led by Campus Recreation Instructors for legal and liability reasons. Some exceptions may be made for special offerings, such as specific dance formats, pending Campus Rec approval.

During Campus Recreation’s Summer Hours of Operation, Sports Club Complex & Intramural Field prices will be discounted for both University Sponsored and External Groups.

Facility Photos
Indoor Pool
The indoor pool is 33 meters x 25 yards (108 feet x 75 feet) and more than 8,000 square feet! Pool depth ranges from 3.5 feet to 13 feet with approximately 425,000 gallons of water for you to enjoy. An accessibility ramp, step entrance, and 90-foot water slide are at the shallow end. At the deep end, there is a one-meter diving board.
Open Swim. The pool is open for water activity of choice, depending on available space in the pool area.
Lap Swimming: Check the posted pool schedule at the pool and online. Training equipment such as kickboards, pull buoys, hand paddles, bar buoys, and buoy belts are available for use.


Outdoor Pool
The outdoor pool has five fountains, 4 lap swim lanes and measures 25 yards x 50 feet with a 0–5 foot depth. The zero-level entry makes the pool accessible to everyone. The pool is usually open May through Labor Day.
